JD for xNix & ESX Administrator
Responsibilities: · Being a key member in global AdvancedComputing Service (ACS) team to support and be responsible for defined systemadministration activities on Linux Servers/workstations, ESX, HPC. · Design configuration and administration insupport of on-going global and local projects. · Follow global configuration managementprocess to manage Linux servers/workstations, ESX, HPC systems. · Be aligning with global change managementprocess to execute change activities. · Implementation and post-installationresponsibilities include technical consulting to user community and providingsolutions to software problems. · Play as a team member to support NIBR BU usersglobally to define operational requirements, troubleshooting and migration tonew versions. · Provide technical expertise for the planningand definition of new system requirements: perform feasibility and performancestudies, including benchmark, capacity planning, sizing, etc. · Prepare and present technical productinformation to user community. · Support and improve system environment andservices (sizing). · Write all related documentation (Validationdocs, systems proposals/recommendation, etc). · Plan / Control / Conduct the server lifecycleand deliver valuable contribution towards the budget planning. · Be deeplyinvolved into the hardware/software procurement process in the responsible areaby good interaction with related internal departments.
Qualifications: · 5 years of experience in Linux administrationin a global enterprise environment. · 3 years ofexperience with Virtual environment (ESX and/or HyperV) · 1~2 years of experience in High PerformanceComputing Cluster management (e.g. ROCKS) and Job Scheduler (e.g. SGE) · Experience on Windows server, ADadministration and Oracle are desired. · Scientific background and being able tosupport Chem-informatics or Bio-informatics applications are desired. · Basic knowledge of Project Managementmethodology and computer system validation or GxP. · Fluent in English (spoken and written) &good communication skills. · Good team player in a global & matrix organization. · Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITIL), asacquired through certification and/or previous work experience. |
