Job description (detailed) Theprimary responsibility is to provide basic support and essential enhancement to the satisfaction of the relevant customer.
Much of the support work is the diagnosis of faults/bugs in software, assisting with or implementation of fixes, specification of change requests, implementation and testing of them.
The primary areas you will be working in involve both Windows and Linux. As such, knowledge of the Windows environment, Linux / Command Line environments is Key to making a success of this role. In addition, knowledge of or familiarity with Oracle databases and SharePoint along with experience of working in Subsurface and Wells applications like 123DI, COMPASS , OpenWorks, OpenWells, SeisWorks, Petrel, ECLIPSE will be desirable.
The successful candidate will be generally responsible for:
• Ensure that support issues raised by users are dealt with in an effective manner and to the satisfaction of both the customer and your line management. Support will include desk-side visits to local users and remote telephone support to users in other locations in Europe
• Ensure that minor enhancements to applications and other project work is carried out as per relevant procedures
• Ensure that support work follows the ITIL compliant procedures adopted by this contract
• Produce and maintain key documentation for work undertaken, including agreed specifications, test plans, test results and acceptance records
• Regularly update Team Lead of performance and progress by meeting, highlighting significant events and by accurate completion of timesheets
• Attend and contribute to regular progress / update meetings within the Subsurface & Wells Support team
• Sharing part of the ‘Assist Desk’ rota for business hours support to users
