Responsibilities:
o Determine, build consensus for, and implement the Navigation & Telematicsglobal technology strategy.
o Lead the design, development and delivery of new technology to furtherimprove TCS Navigation & Telematics products and services.
o Manage a Navigation & Telematics team of diverse engineeringprofessionals in multiple locations (including offshore sites): hire, train,set goals, motivate, coach, develop, and retain team members.
o Provide engineering direction for scope definition, allocate resources, andset priorities. Act as the technical "go-to-person" for team members.Provide detailed troubleshooting assistance while fully understanding projectrequirements.
o Ensure successful execution and delivery of engineering projects, andcontinuous improvement of the organization's ability to execute them.
o Communicate frequently with Architect, Product Mgmt, QA, Project Mgmt andother teams to enable planning, trouble shooting, and execution of developmentprojects.
o Develop and maintains timelines for projects, reports on the status ofmilestones and adjusts schedules accordingly.
o Responsible for the knowledge transfer and mentoring progress of teammembers.
o Perform required administrative functions, including performance appraisals,training, and maintenance of required records.
Qualifications:
o BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
o 5+ years managing software engineering staff.
o Extensive experience in managing software system architecture, design anddevelopment.
o Domain expertise in wireless/mobile/telematics and location based technology(LBS/GPS) and applications, expertise in high performance and scaling. (Highservice level system a plus.)
o Proven ability to identify and realize long-term technology roadmaps thatsupport strategic business goals relying on extensive experience, and a widedegree of creativity and autonomy.
o Extensive knowledge and development of successful engineering strategies.
o Excellent organization and time management skills.
o Strong presentation skills, interpersonal skills and an ability tocommunicate with all levels in an organization.
o Strong ability in adapting to a continually changing environment.
