Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or related fields.
More than 5 years experience maintaining large internally developed and vendor software applications.
Demonstrated experience with utility operations and thorough knowledge of software application maintenance processes, such as ITIL (Change, Release and Configuration Management), Business Impact Event (BIE) communications and work management.
Demonstrated experience analyzing, developing, designing, testing, implementing, and maintaining software applications of medium to large complexity.
Demonstrated experience leading teams by providing direction, counseling and employee development.
Demonstrated experience multi-tasking and balancing multiple interdependent efforts.
Demonstrated experience providing alternatives and innovative solutions to address business needs.
Demonstrated ability to be client-focused and be able to articulate the impact of technology to business professionals.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate with staff, clients, software vendors, project managers and management at all levels.
Must be willing to work overtime to resolve critical system issues and manage software migrations.
Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
Working knowledge of different development tools such Oracle, Java, WebSphere, and QTP.
Excellent written & verbal English, Cantonese is a plus.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will lead, direct, and prioritize the activities for a staff of 15 to 25 Information Technology division and be accountable for their performance and results. Typical responsibilities will include:
Providing technical guidance to staff, including testing, deployment, application enhancement etc;
Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving problems;
Providing leadership, counseling, training/mentoring, development for staff members;
Overseeing the day-to-day operations of critical computer systems which includes working occasional nights and weekends;
Interfacing with clients, software vendors, project teams and external entities to prioritize maintenance work requests, define new business requirements and resolve technical issues;
Overseeing status reporting, metrics reporting;
Performing other duties and responsibilities as required.
